Why hire a tender writer?
You know your business. You could talk about it for an hour without notes. But a tender doesn’t want an hour, it wants 300 words on your approach to risk, with two examples, by Friday.
That’s where bids go wrong. The people who know the work are flat out doing the work, so the response gets written in pieces, by three people with three different voices. It answers what you wanted to say rather than what was asked. It’s over the word limit in some places and thin in others. And the evaluator, working through a stack of them, marks it down.
A tender writer closes the gap. We read the request the way the panel will, interview your people for the evidence, and write responses that are easy to score.
What's included
-
Reading the request properly
We go through the request documents, the criteria and the weightings, and work out what each question is really asking for. Then we tell you what we need from you.
-
A kick-off interview
We start with a kick-off interview, over Teams or the phone. After we've gathered everything we can by interview, we send a short list of anything still needed, and you email it through as you pull it together.
-
Writing to the criteria
Every response is written to the criterion it answers, with evidence, inside the word limit. Executive summaries, methodology, key personnel, case examples and value-adds, all in one voice.
-
Capability statements
A capability statement that reads like a shortlist argument, not a brochure. Structured for the buyer, with the proof up front.
-
Case studies and bios
Client success stories and team profiles written once and reused across tenders, your website and your pitch deck.
-
Editing, and a final read against the questions
One round of edits included, then a last pass to check every question has actually been answered and nothing has drifted over the word limit.
-
Delivered in Word
You get the finished responses in a Word document, ready to drop into your submission. The forms, company details and the upload stay with your team.
Why hire us as your tender writer?
-
We've written tender, RFQ and RFP responses across industries including legal services, live events and audio production, construction and electrical trades, mining services, design and government, plus capability statements for businesses from sole traders to national contractors.
-
Interviewing is the skill. We get what matters out of busy experts.
-
One voice, start to finish, instead of three people's drafts stitched into one.
-
Word limits are our thing. We write to them, not around them.
-
Everything's done remotely, anywhere in Australia. Interviews over Teams or phone, drafts and edits by email.
-
A fixed price before we start, so the cost doesn't creep the way the deadline does.
Your tender in 3 simple steps
We chat
Send us the request documents and your closing date. We'll read them, then come back with a fixed price and a list of who we need to talk to.
We get to work
A kick-off interview, then we write. You see sections as they're ready, not one big draft at the end, so you always know where it's up to.
All done!
Final responses in a Word document with a round of edits included, checked against every question. You drop them into your submission and send it.
How much notice do you need?
For a short RFQ, a week from the kick-off interview is workable. For a full panel tender, three to four weeks, which gives you room to pull the evidence together around everything else you’re doing. If it’s tighter than that, ask anyway. Sometimes it works.
Do you write the whole tender or just parts of it?
Either. Some clients hand us every criteria response. Others have a bid team and want us on the sections that carry the most weight, or a final edit for consistency. We’ll suggest the split that gives you the best return for the budget.
What’s not included?
We write the responses to the questions. The company details, forms, schedules of rates, referee lists, insurance certificates and the upload stay with your team. Those parts need your logins and your commercial decisions, and you shouldn’t be paying a writer for them.
Can you write our capability statement without a tender on the table?
Yes, and it’s a good time to do it. A capability statement written calmly, before a deadline, is the one you’ll be glad of when the next request lands with ten days’ notice.
What do you need from us?
The request documents, time with the people who know the work, and whatever evidence you already have: past project examples, results, CVs, certifications. How much time depends on the size of the tender, and we’ll tell you exactly how much when we quote. We’ll also tell you what’s missing.
Do you work outside Sydney?
Yes. Our entire process is done remotely, so it makes no difference where you are in Australia.
